About MVMP
Meden Valley Making Places has come a long way in five years. Communities in and around the Meden Valley have been revitalised, and local people are once more taking pride in where they live.
But we must not forget why MVMP was created. The local pit closures of the 1980s and early 1990s precipitated a dramatic decline in many neighbourhoods. MVMP was established to reverse this, and to catalyse regeneration in association with local, regional and national partners.
A not-for-profit public sector company, we are jointly owned by the Homes and Communities Agency, emda (East Midlands Development Agency), Bolsover District Council and Mansfield District Council.
According to an independent interim evaluation report, MVMP continues to make significant strides forward. Our achievements were rewarded this summer with renewed support from our funding partners – tremendous news which means we can continue our work until at least 2011.
