SISTER ACT

Wednesday 16th December 2009

Two young sisters revealed a wealth of creative spirit to produce the best design in Farmilo Primary School’s Christmas card competition.

Four-year-old Alice Kirk and her ten-year-old sister Marie put their heads together to win the prize of a deluxe artist set for their joint picture of a Christmas tree.

The competition, which attracted scores of entries, was organised by Meden Valley Making Places, the local regeneration agency that is helping residents to have their say on the future of Pleasley Hill.

Carol Avison, Community Participation Officer for MVMP, said: “It was difficult to pick a winner because all the entries were of such a high standard but the card produced by Alice and Marie stood out as the best.”

The runners up were Alice Lindley and Alexandra Armstrong, both aged ten.

Carol added: “We were delighted to hold a Christmas competition for Farmilo Primary School as part of our efforts to involve the whole community in the regeneration of Pleasley Hill.”
